The finder is a clear improvement on the simple 5x24 finders, but also on cheap finders that have a diaphragm directly behind the objective. This finder offers a coated 2-element objective with full aperture. This shows stars up to about 9mag brightness.

The finder is ideal as a replacement for simple 6x30 finders or for do-it-yourself construction. A simple block of wood with a notch and a rubber band, for example, can hold the small finder in place.
